Ski Areas Announce New Passes, Added Value and More Benefits for 2010-11 Ski Season

DENVER, Colo – Sept. 10, 2010
– As the seasons begin to change in Colorado Ski Country, skiers and riders are navigating the best way to access the slopes this winter. Colorado Ski Country USA (CSCUSA) resorts are unveiling a diverse menu of options for ski passes and lift tickets, including new flexible passes, and passes with added value and extra perks.
With the variety of discounted products recently released, savvy skiers will find that doing a little research can pay big dividends. Below are some of the pass products and lift ticket options skiers can expect for the coming season:
New Deals and Discounts
Copper Mountain and Winter Park/Mary Jane are offering the $469 Rocky Mountain Super Pass Plus until October 17. This pass gives skiers and riders unlimited skiing at Copper and Winter Park/Mary Jane as well as six unrestricted days at Steamboat, and twenty Friends and Family $59 discounted lift tickets. New Rocky Mountain Super Pass Plus passes can be purchased at Christy Sports locations around the state. New this year at Aspen, the Double Flex Pass gives skiers and riders two days per week of skiing with the option to add additional days at $49 per day. If purchased by September 24, skiers can enjoy last year’s prices for the original Flex Pass as well as the Premier Pass at $819 and $1499 respectively. Early purchase pass deals are sweeping through other ski areas as well. Ski Cooper season passes are available for $199 if purchased by September 30th. Ski Cooper’s season pass includes unlimited skiing at Ski Cooper and three unrestricted days at Powderhorn, Sunlight, and several out-of-state resorts. The pass can be purchased by mail or online at skicooper.com.
In addition to unlimited skiing at Powderhorn, Powderhorn’s season pass provides three free ski days at Purgatory at Durango Mountain Resort, Monarch Mountain, and Ski Cooper; unlimited half-price lift tickets at Crested Butte, and a 10 percent discount on lessons, rentals, and merchandise at the resort. Sunlight is offering their season pass for $370 until September 15. The pass includes three free lift tickets at Monarch Mountain, Ski Cooper, and Sipapu, NM, and can be purchased in person at Sunlight Ski and Bike shop, by phone, or on the web at sunlightmtn.com.
Echo Mountain’s unlimited season pass is on sale for $169. Echo is also offering package deals on daily lift tickets, with an adult three-pack of day lift tickets for $99 and a three-pack of night lift tickets for $59. Echo’s season pass is available online at echomt.com.
Crested Butte’s season passes are available at discounted prices through September 24, with the unlimited and unrestricted winter and summer Platinum Pass for $999, the unlimited winter Gold Pass for $949, and the semi-restricted Bronze Pass for $799. Wolf Creek’s early purchase price for an unlimited season pass is marked down to $574 from $718, and is available from September 25 through October 3. For more information, please visit wolfcreekski.com.
For 2010-11, Silverton has kept their prices the same as last year with one unguided day of skiing costing $49. This year, the ski area is offering two nights lodging combined with two days of skiing for $180. A Silverton unguided season pass is available for $399 and guided group and individual packages are all available online at silvertonmountain.com.
At Steamboat, the new $909 Pure Pass offers visitors and locals an alternative to the season pass with 15 days on the mountain and the option for additional ski and snowboard days at $39 per day. The original Steamboat season pass is also available for $1199 with the option to add unlimited skiing at Winter Park for $50. More pass and lift ticket information can be found at steamboat.com.
For Eldora skiers, the season pass is available for $399 ($389 for a renewal pass) and includes unrestricted alpine skiing as well as the option to add five days at Steamboat for $149. Passes can be purchased online anytime at Eldora.com and at the resort after October 4.
Added Benefits
Purgatory at Durango Mountain Resort is offering their season pass for $799 until October 16. The pass now includes 10 percent off Durango food and beverage purchases, three free ski days at Monarch Mountain, half price lift tickets at Crested Butte, and benefits at other partner resorts. At $299, the A-Basin Only pass provides unlimited skiing at A-Basin, one unguided day at Silverton and a 10 percent discount on food and retail. For $359, the A-Basin Bonus Pass provides unlimited skiing at A-Basin, one unguided day at Silverton and five additional days at several other partner resorts. Visit arapahoebasin.com for details.
Loveland’s season pass now gives skiers and riders three free days at Monarch Mountain and Purgatory at Durango Mountain Resort, one free day at Silverton, and a 10 percent discount on food and retail at Loveland, as well as discounted ski school and Friends and Family lift tickets. Loveland’s unrestricted four-pack tickets are also available at last year’s rate of $119 ($109 if purchased at a Front Range ski show) and can be used on separate days or all at once with friends and family. Monarch Mountain’s season pass includes unlimited skiing at Monarch for $329, as well as one unguided day at Silverton and three free days at Purgatory at Durango Mountain Resort, Loveland, Powderhorn, Sunlight, and SolVista; and a number of other resorts across the western U.S. and Canada. The pass also offers discounts and deals at retailers and restaurants around the state. The season pass can be purchased online at skimonarch.com.
The Four Pass deal at Telluride allows four adults to purchase four season passes at the 2007 price of $998 each. Telluride’s other season pass and lift ticket options can be found at tellurideskiresort.com.
