Sun Valley adding 3 groomers to its fleet

2 Prinoth Bisons and a Prinoth Beast. 

Sun Valley Resort’s grooming fleet will be increased with two Prinoth Bisons and the largest snow grooming vehicle available – the Prinoth Beast.

Already eight strong for a total of 11, Sun Valley’s grooming fleet has consistently raised the bar for excellence in grooming over the years.

This season, Sun Valley’s 75th, should be no exception.

The Prinoth Beast, the grooming world’s latest technology, takes the place of two of Sun Valley’s older cats with increase in horsepower (520), increase in size, (23 feet wide), and productivity. This horsepower will enable the vehicle to climb Sun Valley’s long, continuous runs (3,400 vertical ft.) much faster and more efficiently.

The new Bison will replace Dollar’s old cat and offers the operator increased visibility, new operator controls and the latest technology.

The third grooming vehicle is a Bison winch cat which will replace one of Sun Valley’s old winch cats, increasing the winch cat fleet’s capability to groom additional steep runs.

“This sizable investment on our mountains is a strong statement as to our commitment for maintaining the best snow surface possible for our guests,” Peter Stearns, Director of Mountain Operations, said.
